Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nathan McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dontae Greenberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McGregor fails with the takedown

and Greenberg counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Greenberg.

Greenberg gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Greenberg is looking for a kimura but McGregor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Greenberg to get the leverage.
McGregor is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Greenberg connects with a nice short shot to McGregor's temple.
Greenberg thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McGregor's head.

McGregor has hold of Greenberg's hands but Greenberg slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Greenberg is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McGregor drops down looking for a counter takedown but Greenberg sprawls and moves away.
McGregor throws a series of punches but Greenberg avoids them all with ease.

McGregor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Greenberg defends well and McGregor ends up having to push Greenberg into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

McGregor tries to close the distance and clinch but Greenberg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

McGregor shoots for a takedown but Greenberg saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McGregor throws a series of punches but Greenberg moves out of range.

McGregor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Greenberg.

Greenberg is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
McGregor moves in looking to clinch but Greenberg pushes him off.

And Greenberg tries to counter it with a takedown but McGregor pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Greenberg decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

McGregor has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Greenberg is on him like a limpet, forcing McGregor back against the cage.
McGregor gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Greenberg.
McGregor tries to pull guard but Greenberg holds him up against the cage and eventually McGregor drops back down to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Greenberg escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGregor displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Greenberg.
McGregor lands a two punch combo.

Greenberg moves into the clinch.

Greenberg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McGregor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Greenberg sprawls well. Greenberg wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McGregor gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan McGregor. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Greenberg throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McGregor works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Greenberg drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Greenberg seems to have locked his on tight now - McGregor screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Greenberg, as he picks up the win!
