Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jules Hull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julio Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reyes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hull's guard.
Reyes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Reyes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hull swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hull keeping moving, preventing Reyes from controlling successfully.
Reyes sitting in guard, not really doing much.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reyes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Reyes throws a strike but Hull rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hull is breathing heavily.

Reyes is looking for a triangle but Hull pushes his legs off easily.
Hull tries to stand but Reyes is controlling from the bottom.

Hull is looking to work some ground and pound but Reyes has wrist control.

Hull gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hull slaps away a takedown attempt from Reyes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Hull counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Reyes feints and as Hull raises his hands in defense, Reyes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Reyes shoots in for a double leg but Hull sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hull tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reyes swivels and escapes.

Reyes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hull is looking to reverse the position.
Reyes throws a strike aimed at the side of Hull's head but Hull avoids it well.
Hull trying to remain calm as Reyes controls from the top position.

Reyes working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Reyes sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hull is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Reyes winds up and cracks Hull with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Reyes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hull defends it well.

Julio Reyes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hull's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Reyes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hull tries to stall but Reyes uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Reyes has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Hull is on him like a limpet, forcing Reyes back against the cage.

Reyes throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hull tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reyes is in Hull's guard.
Hull controls Reyes momentarily but Reyes frees himself.
Hull wants to sweep but no luck.
