The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
An attempted straight right counter from Johnson misses the target.

Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Johnson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones working for a triangle but Johnson defends it easily.
Johnson wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jones is proving hard to escape from.
Johnson is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Jones throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Johnson escapes and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Jones is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it.
Johnson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Johnson decides to stand back up.

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Johnson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jones is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Johnson sees it coming and defends easily.
Jones moves nicely into side control.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Johnson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Jones gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Johnson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Jones lets go of the hold and Johnson can pop his arm back in it's socket.
