TWGC 11 (155lbs, D2): Finals - Round 2 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jo Ballinger and Akira Ishikawa. Ballinger comes to the cage accompanied by Cheese Scones. Ishikawa has chosen mindshift genki sudo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 0 losses; Jo Ballinger! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 5 losses; Akira Ishikawa!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and William Gold.

Ishikawa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ballinger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ballinger drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ballinger seems to have locked his on tight now - Ishikawa screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ballinger, as he picks up the win!
