The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heation fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Moon appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Heation darts in and clinches Moon up against the cage.
Heation manages to break the clinch.
Heation fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Heation.
Carl Moon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Heation.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Heation closes the distance looking to clinch
and Moon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Moon feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Heation tries to close the distance and clinch up but Moon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Moon counters with a shoot takedown. Heation fights it but they end up in guard.
Moon is looking to stand up but Heation won't let him.
Heation has momentary wrist control but Moon slips an elbow through the middle.
Moon wants to stand but Heation has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Moon cracks Heation with a solid left hand.
Moon stands up from guard. Let's bang!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Heation sprawls well initially but Moon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Heation has one foot on Moon's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Heation looks winded!
Heation fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Heation misses with a takedown
and Moon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Heation has Moon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Moon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Moon goes for a takedown attempt but Heation pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Heation fails with the takedown.
Moon moves into the clinch successfully.
Heation prevents a body shot from Moon.
Heation misses with a punch on the inside.
Moon gets control of Heation's arms and successfully pulls guard. Moon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moon is controlling Heation's posture.
Moon looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Heation has picked Moon up and slammed him! Moon can't keep hold of the triangle and Heation manages to pass to side control!

Heation is trying to get an arm triangle but Moon is defending well.

Moon wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Moon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Heation napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Heation throws Moon to one side and escapes!

Heation takes the fight into the clinch.
Heation fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Moon is trying to pull guard but Heation turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Heation is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Moon can't break the clinch.
Moon tries to work over Heation's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Moon stops a takedown attempt from Heation.

Heation is breathing heavily.
Moon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Heation walks away with a smile on his face. Moon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Heation shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moon but Moon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Moon slips a jab and a cross from Heation.

enabling Moon to counter with a crisp jab.

Heation wants to clinch up but Moon keeps it at a distance.
Moon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Moon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Heation throws the kick towards the body but Moon avoids it.
Moon moves into the clinch successfully.
Heation stalling.
Moon jumps guard.
Moon pulls Heation in close to prevent any damage.
Heation is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moon wants to sweep but no luck.
Moon wants to stand and escape but Heation is having none of it.
Moon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Moon holds on and takes a little breather.
Moon has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Heation doesn't defend quickly enough and Moon has managed to lock this one up! Can Heation escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Moon on a fantastic submission victory.
