The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nord tests Shephard's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Jack Shephard has been cut.
Good work by Shephard as he checks the leg kick.
Shephard is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
A jab from Shephard does it's job there.
Nord looks to land a left hand but Shephard moved out of range nicely.
Shephard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nord circles away quickly and effectively.
Shephard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Shephard misses with a two punch combination.
Nord tries to land a front kick but Shephard steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Nord lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Nord drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Shephard defends it well.
Shephard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shephard is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nord knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nord holds on to Shephard's head and controls the position momentarily.

Shephard wants to control but Nord is keeping him busy.
Shephard creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Shephard tries to score with some ground and pound. Nord controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Shephard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nord is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nord is trying to work for a sweep but Shephard has mounted him!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Shephard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That kick from Nord tenderised Shephard's leg. Shephard is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nord misses with a few strikes there.
Shephard checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nord slips under a jab.
And Nord tries to counter it with a takedown but Shephard pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Nord throws a right hand that misses
and Shephard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nord plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Nord thuds his shin into the meat of Shephard's side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nord misses with a wild body shot.
Shephard throws a big counter combination but Nord scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Donk. Nord catches Shephard right on the button with a cross.
Shephard throws a combination. Nord tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Nord misses with a leg kick
and Shephard counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Nord lands with a hook. Shephard tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Shephard tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Vidar Nord seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Shephard throws a hook but Nord avoids it easily.
Shephard walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Jack Shephard's cut is getting worse.
Nord fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shephard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Shephard takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nord throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Shephard lands a nice shot to the body.
Shephard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shephard stuns Nord with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nord has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Shephard darts in looking for a takedown but Nord gets double underhooks and turns Shephard into the cage.
Shephard throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Shephard has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nord finds it's way round the side to connect with Shephard's head.
Nord avoids the body shot from Shephard.
Shephard takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Nord fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shephard sprawls well initially but Nord persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Nord thows a huge punch but Shephard dodges it nicely.
