Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Forbes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Vichenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yuri Vichenko will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forbes looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Desmond Forbes has been cut.
Vichenko tries to clinch but Forbes is having none of it.
Forbes throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Vichenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Forbes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Vichenko closes the distance and clinches.
Vichenko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Forbes has Vichenko pressed against the cage, preventing Vichenko from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Vichenko jumps guard but Forbes stands there with Vichenko around his waist. Vichenko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Forbes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vichenko tries to break the clinch but Forbes is controlling the position.

Vichenko scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Forbes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Forbes cracks Vichenko with a solid left hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vichenko wants to stand and escape but Forbes is having none of it.

Forbes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Forbes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Vichenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Forbes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Forbes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Vichenko to the ground. Forbes is now in Vichenko's guard.

Forbes postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Forbes stands and steps away. Vichenko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Vichenko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vichenko takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Vichenko takes a swing at Forbes's ribcage but misses.
Forbes throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Vichenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Forbes.
Forbes half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Forbes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Vichenko lands the left hand.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vichenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Forbes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Forbes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Vichenko is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Forbes is controlling him well.
