The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones stays in close to Peters's body and controls the position.
Jones works over Peters with some ground and pound from guard.
Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones slows the pace down in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peters has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.
Peters really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
