Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Erwin Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mitchell Hobson! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut lands for Hobson. That snapped Hall's head back.
Hall throws a wild body kick that Hobson sees coming a mile off. No joy there for Hall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Hobson pushes Hall back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Hobson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Hobson lands a body punch in the clinch. Hall leaning his opponent against the cage. Hobson misses with a hook from the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hobson scores with an uppercut up the middle. Hobson lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Hobson. We've been hearing reports that Hall has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Hobson misses with a short punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hobson swings wildly with an uppercut but Hall uses good head movement to avoid it. Hobson lands a body punch in the clinch. Hall wants the takedown. Hobson is fighting it off but Hall persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hobson's guard against the cage. Hall postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hall controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hobson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hall gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hobson fails with an attempt to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hall. Hobson does a little dance to reset his feet. Hall takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Hobson slips a straight right by Hall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hobson lands with a straight right. Hall didn't see that one coming. Erwin Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slow jab from Hall misses its intended target. Hobson has managed to clinch.
Nice body punch from Hobson. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A right hand to the body from Hobson.
Hall blocks a body shot from Hobson. Hall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hobson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hall's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Hobson lands a nice uppercut. Hobson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Halls head.
It looks like Erwin Hall has been cut. Hobson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hall backwards. A short right hand to the side of the head by Hobson. Hobson lands with a right to the head. Hobson lands a body shot in the clinch.
Hall is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hall drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hobson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hobson clinches up against the cage. Hobson lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Hall is rocked! Hobson lands a nice uppercut. Oh Hall is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hobson lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Hall to his knees! Hobson keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
