Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alec Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dai Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson's entrance music is Drowning Pool- Let The Bodies Hit The Floor. A fine choice. Thomas is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Killing In The Name. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alec Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dai Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas thows a left - swing and a miss!
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Thomas throws out a counter right but Johnson avoids it with no problem.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Thomas enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Thomas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Thomas is adopting a defensive guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Thomas is defending well.

Johnson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Thomas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thomas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Johnson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Thomas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Thomas avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Johnson.
Johnson throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Thomas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Johnson tries for a kimura but Thomas is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Thomas managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Johnson.

Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Thomas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thomas has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alec Johnson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely.
A little jabbing left from Thomas on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Thomas scores with a nice strike.

and Thomas counters with a stiff right hand.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alec Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Thomas! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dai Thomas!
In his post fight interview, Dai Thomas started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
In defeat, Alec Johnson stepped up to the mic, saying 'sorry all'.
