The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patton throws a sloppy head kick and Chapman moves out of range easily. Chapman drops Patton with a nice combination! Chapman dives into Patton's guard, looking to finish!
Chapman wants to control from the top but Patton keeps moving. Chapman controls from within his opponent's guard. Chapman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Chapman wants to control but Patton is keeping him busy. Chapman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Patton, who protects the arm well. Patton pushes Chapman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chapman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Chapman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Patton has escaped the position, nice work there.

George Patton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Patton avoids a punch combination nicely.

Chapman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Patton is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Chapman has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Not really close to a finish though. Chapman is working to tighten is grip on Patton's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Patton has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Chapman is really squeezing tight and eventually Patton passes out! Chapman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
