Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnson Vaughan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnson Vaughan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyson Jackson! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vaughan tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vaughan to the ground. Vaughan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jackson moves into the clinch successfully.
Jackson is trying to drag Vaughan to the mat but Vaughan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Vaughan gets underhooks to prevent Jackson's takedown attempt.
Johnson Vaughan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Jackson. Jackson is working for takedown but Vaughan is calmly controlling the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson blocks a body shot from Vaughan. Jackson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vaughan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vaughan tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch. Jackson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vaughan is defending well. Vaughan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Jackson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jackson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vaughan chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vaughan trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jackson's guard. Jackson trying to control the position.
Vaughan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jackson dives on top into guard. Vaughan throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Vaughan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jackson defends well. Jackson preventing the sweep. Jackson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jackson fails with a takedown attempt. Vaughan feinted with a counter takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson clinches up with Vaughan and pushes him back against the cage. Jackson fails to pull guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jackson just leaning against Vaughan, taking a breather. A frustrated look appears on Vaughan's face as he tries to break the clinch. Jackson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vaughan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vaughan misses with a takedown attempt and Jackson counters with a left and a right that stings Vaughan. Jackson dives in and grabs Vaughan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vaughan pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out. Vaughan tried to counter with a leg kick but Jackson avoided it. Jackson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vaughan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vaughan shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Vaughan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Vaughan doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.
Vaughan fails miserably with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Jackson dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A slow jab from Jackson misses its intended target. Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Vaughan shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jackson closes the distance and pushes Vaughan back into the cage. Jackson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vaughan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jackson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vaughan walks away with a smile on his face. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson tries for a takedown but Vaughan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Vaughan half committed to a counter leg kick. Johnson Vaughan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Jackson. Vaughan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vaughan somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vaughan sprawls well. Vaughan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Vaughan appears to be looking for a big counter. Jackson instigates a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Vaughan has a couple of punches blocked by Jackson.

Jackson is looking to take this one to the mat. Jackson is breathing heavily. Jackson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jackson has Vaughan pushed against the cage. Jackson managing to block the knees to the body from Vaughan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vaughan with a flurry of punches that miss. Vaughan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Vaughan passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Vaughan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Vaughan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Jackson is trying to stand.
Vaughan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Jackson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson is refusing to be controlled, as Vaughan sits in half guard. Vaughan stops Jackson from getting back to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Johnson Vaughan will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Vaughan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away. Nice takedown defense from Vaughan. No joy for Jackson on that attempt. As Jackson tries to get set, Vaughan tries to push him back and clinch up but Jackson manages to avoid the attempt. Jackson pushes Vaughan up against the cage in a clinch. Jackson lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Vaughan. Jackson tries to land a knee to the head but Vaughan blocks with his arms.
Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tyson Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab lands there for Jackson. Jackson closes the distance and clinches. Jackson pulls guard. Vaughan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Vaughan chips away with some ground and pound. Vaughan wanted to stand there but Jackson had control of the position. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vaughan is one step ahead there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.
Vaughan wants to get back to his feet but Jackson passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vaughan wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Vaughan manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jackson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Vaughan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vaughan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jackson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Vaughan wants to sweep but no luck. Vaughan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jackson is controlling him. Jackson pushing down on Vaughan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Vaughan is defending well. Vaughan moves into full guard.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Vaughan throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Vaughan gets tackled into the cage by Jackson. Jackson maintains the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Jackson tries to pull guard but Vaughan won't allow it.
Jackson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vaughan smiles and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight! Tyson Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
