Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones scores with a takedown into Carter's guard.
Jones distracts Carter with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Carter lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Carter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Carter has wrist control.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard.
Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carter's head.
Jones looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carter is on top in guard.

Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jones working for a triangle but Carter defends it easily.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carter defends it easily.

Carter passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Carter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carter passes the guard and advances to mount!
Jones tries to improve his position but instead Carter has taken his back!

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
