PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Touko Pouko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felicito Vicente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Touko Pouko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Felicito Vicente!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pouko closes the distance and clinches up with Vicente, looking for a takedown. Pouko pushes Vicente against the cage but Vicente circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Pouko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Vicente throws a sloppy head kick and Pouko moves out of range easily.
Pouko has been working on his balance at Midnight MMA, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Vicente.
Vicente lands a nice shot that snaps Pouko's head back.

Vicente shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pouko napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Vicente tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vicente has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Vicente goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pouko rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Vicente's guard! Nice work there by Pouko!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vicente had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pouko defends it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Let's hope that Vicente has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Vicente tries to clinch but Pouko moves out of range.
Pouko darts in looking for a takedown but Vicente gets double underhooks and turns Pouko into the cage.
Pouko sets himself, and Vicente steps forward looking for the clinch! Pouko avoids it this time.

Pouko wants to control but Vicente is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vicente drops back looking for a leg! Pouko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pouko manages to kick Vicente off! Vicente jumps back into Pouko's guard.

That's time! Pouko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Vicente throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pouko was covering up waiting for the punch and Vicente finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Vicente postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pouko is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vicente, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vicente isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pouko stacks Vicente on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pouko!

That was a close second round but I would say that Touko Pouko will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Vicente looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Felicito Vicente comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Vicente has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
