3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Diego Lupertazzi! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ohmsford fails with the takedown and Lupertazzi counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Lupertazzi connects with a single shot there. Jab from Lupertazzi. Ohmsford walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Ohmsford fails in his attempt to clinch. Ohmsford takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lupertazzi punishes Ohmsford's body with a nice straight punch. Lupertazzi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ohmsford tries to pull guard but Lupertazzi won't allow it.
Lupertazzi scores with a shoulder strike. Lupertazzi working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ohmsford tries for a takedown but Lupertazzi manages to get underhooks.

Lupertazzi lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Ohmsford has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lupertazzi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Lupertazzi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ohmsford works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Ohmsford is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lupertazzi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ohmsford stands up over Lupertazzi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Lupertazzi keeping full guard, as Ohmsford tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lupertazzi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ohmsford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ohmsford makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ohmsford wants to pass the guard but Lupertazzi is keeping the position. Lupertazzi looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ohmsford has picked Lupertazzi up and slammed him! Lupertazzi can't keep hold of the triangle and Ohmsford manages to pass to side control! Lupertazzi wants to control but Ohmsford postures up. Lupertazzi prevents Ohmsford from moving into mount. Ohmsford blocks the strikes from Lupertazzi.
Ohmsford cracks Lupertazzi with an elbow. That is naaassty. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ohmsford trying to control the position but Lupertazzi is working away. Lupertazzi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lupertazzi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ohmsford pulls his head out easily. Ohmsford is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ohmsford breaks from Lupertazzi's wrist control and lands an elbow.
It looks like Diego Lupertazzi has been cut. Ohmsford swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lupertazzi is now in Ohmsford's guard. A big mistake from Ohmsford there, giving up the dominant position! Ohmsford throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Lupertazzi looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ohmsford keeping moving, preventing Lupertazzi from controlling successfully. Lupertazzi scores with a jab to the jaw. Lupertazzi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Lupertazzi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ohmsford looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Diego Lupertazzi seems to be getting the better of the standup. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lupertazzi tries to clinch but Ohmsford is having none of it. A cross from Lupertazzi lands. Ohmsford takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Lupertazzi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lupertazzi lands a nice hook to Ohmsford's body. Ohmsford takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ohmsford takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Lupertazzi lands a body shot.
Lupertazzi lunges at Ohmsford with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ohmsford's hand. Lupertazzi dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ohmsford has his takedown stuffed and Lupertazzi counters with a two punch combo. Lupertazzi looks to land a combination but Ohmsford avoids it well. Ohmsford is looking to counter the offense by Lupertazzi and move into the clinch. Lupertazzi clinches. Lupertazzi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lupertazzi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ohmsford swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lupertazzi throws a leg kick and Ohmsford counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ohmsford. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ohmsford blocking some punches.

Ohmsford is looking to work some ground and pound but Lupertazzi has wrist control. Ohmsford works a leg free and moves into half guard. Lupertazzi wants to control but Ohmsford is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Lupertazzi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Diego Lupertazzi's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lupertazzi misses with a leg kick and Ohmsford counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Lupertazzi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ohmsford is aware though and is defending well. Ohmsford passes into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ohmsford prevents Lupertazzi from improving his position. Lupertazzi is not content to let Ohmsford control the position. Lupertazzi blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ohmsford. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing that Ohmsford has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Ohmsford throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ohmsford is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lupertazzi is just riding it out for now. Ohmsford eventually gives up the hold. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ohmsford is looking for a kimura but Lupertazzi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ohmsford to get the leverage.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pal Ohmsford has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Diego Lupertazzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lupertazzi lands with a right hand.
