Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Miss Fortune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Luther King Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Jr has chosen MLK tribute as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Miss Fortune!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Martin Luther King Jr!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King Jr shoots in for a double leg but Fortune sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fortune tries to land a body kick

and King Jr counters with a takedown into side control.

King Jr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fortune is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

King Jr goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Fortune has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for King Jr but great work by Fortune.
Fortune looks up at the clock and then as King Jr takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fortune smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
King Jr manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
King Jr is pressing down on Fortune's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

King Jr has an active guard here but Fortune has managed to pass into half guard.
Fortune seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King Jr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King Jr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fortune is working away from the top position though.

King Jr looking for submissions off his back.
Fortune knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King Jr on the ground.
King Jr is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fortune's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fortune's back!

King Jr is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Fortune with him. Fortune is trying to defend but King Jr has an arm under the chin now! Fortune grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Martin Luther King Jr!
Martin Luther King Jr decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
