Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lesley Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terble Herble!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Watson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herble pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johns appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Herble closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Johns has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Herble is on him like a limpet, forcing Johns back against the cage.
Herble content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Herble is trying to push Johns away but Johns has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A nice right hand lands inside from Johns.
Johns has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Herble avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Johns really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Herble working hard to break the clinch.

Johns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Herble throws a sloppy head kick
and Johns connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Herble takes the fight into the clinch.
Herble blocks an elbow strike from Johns.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Herble has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Johns regains guard immediately.
Johns wants to get back to his feet but Herble is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Johns trying to control the position.
Johns is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Herble should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Herble slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Herble decides to stand back up.

Herble forces Johns back against the cage and clinches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Johns just misses with a elbow thrown towards Herble's brow.
Herble dodges an elbow strike from Johns.

Herble decides to pull guard.
Herble is looking to stand up but Johns isn't so interested in that idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johns trying to control but Herble is working from the bottom.

Herble is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Johns rolls with it to try and escape but Herble cranks on the arm and Johns is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Terble Herble!
