Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rocherre Velassco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Hug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andy Hug told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocherre Velassco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andy Hug! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Velassco. As Velassco backs off Hug throws a huge counter combo but Velassco manages to avoid it all. Hug looks to land a combination but Velassco avoids it well. Hug throws a left and a right that both miss
and Velassco makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Velassco steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hug. Hug swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hug takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Andy Hug has been cut. Velassco avoids the head kick by Hug.
Velassco feints and then cracks Hug's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hug down. Velassco instigates a clinch. Hug misses with the head strike.
Hug tries to throw a body punch but Velassco avoids it by throwing Hug back against the cage. Velassco lands a body shot. Velassco lands a body shot. Velassco just leaning against Hug, taking a breather. Velassco using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Hug looks winded! Velassco lands a body punch in the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Velassco stalling in the clinch.
Velassco lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Velassco connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hug's face.

Still in the clinch, Velassco scores with a nice short uppercut. Velassco slowing the pace effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velassco works on Hug's body with a couple of short punches. Velassco lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hug backwards. Hug takes a shot to the head. Velassco lands on the inside with an uppercut. Velassco taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Velassco lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Velassco lands a body punch in the clinch. Velassco landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Velassco lands a big knee! That's hurt Hug! Oh, he's all over the place! Velassco lands another knee that sends Hug to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocherre Velassco! During a confident post fight interview, Rocherre Velassco thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
