Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunji Koizumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saul Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goodman has chosen Baba O'riley as his entrance music. Gunji Koizumi is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunji Koizumi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saul Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koizumi throws a leg kick
and Goodman counters with a stiff right hand.
Koizumi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Koizumi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Goodman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Goodman lands a right hook to the body.
Koizumi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Koizumi slips under a jab from Goodman.
Goodman misses with a low kick as Koizumi jumps back.
Koizumi feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Koizumi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Goodman counters with a stiff right hand.
Koizumi walks into a straight right hand from Goodman.
Goodman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Koizumi. That did some damage!
Koizumi takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Goodman is looking to land body kicks.
Koizumi tries to counter by clinching up but Goodman breaks away and moves out of range.
Koizumi misses with a wild combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Goodman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Goodman lunges at Koizumi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Koizumi's hand.
Koizumi tries for a takedown but Goodman circles away easily
and Goodman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Goodman cracks Koizumi with a good jab.
Good standup being displayed there by Goodman as he connects with a hook.
Gunji Koizumi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goodman connects with an inside leg kick.
Goodman moves into range and connects with a jab.
Koizumi gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Goodman.
Goodman checks a leg kick.
Goodman steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Koizumi. That one must have hurt.
Goodman throws a looping overhand right but Koizumi ducks down to avoid it.
Koizumi tries to land a leg kick but Goodman saw it coming and moves away.
Goodman throws a hook but Koizumi avoids it easily.
Koizumi attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Goodman cracks the inside of Koizumi's front leg.
Goodman is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
A low kick from Koizumi is predictable there
and Goodman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goodman tests Koizumi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice body punch from Goodman.
A swing and a miss from Goodman.

Koizumi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Goodman.
Goodman misses the shot to the body.
Goodman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Goodman checks a leg kick nicely.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Goodman. Koizumi shrugs it off though.
Goodman fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Goodman is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Koizumi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Goodman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Saul Goodman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Goodman uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Koizumi throws a nice inside leg kick.
Koizumi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Koizumi swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Koizumi throws a front kick aimed at Goodman's knee but Goodman avoids it well.
Goodman moves out of range of the leg kick from Koizumi.
Koizumi lands a head kick. Goodman smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Nice sprawl there from Goodman as Koizumi shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gunji Koizumi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Goodman thuds a left hand into Koizumi's body.
Goodman lands a jab to the nose.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Goodman's corner calls for a 1-2. Goodman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Goodman throws a poor cross that misses

and Koizumi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Koizumi controlling from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koizumi throwing strikes but missing.
Koizumi advances position into side control!
Koizumi tries to advance to mount but Goodman denies him.
Goodman wants to control but Koizumi postures up.
Koizumi landing a few strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
An elbow from Koizumi crashes against the mat.
Koizumi misses with the ground and pound.
Goodman tries to improve position but can't.
Goodman is trying to control Koizumi's posture but Koizumi avoids it.

Koizumi tries for a kimura but Goodman is defending well.
Koizumi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Goodman keeps working.

Koizumi is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Goodman looks calm but he's in trouble here. Koizumi gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Goodman is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Koizumi lets go of the hold and Goodman can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Gunji Koizumi!
