3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Nolty! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Nolty.
Nolty attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Nolty takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Nolty misses with a few strikes there.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nolty. Nolty tries a head kick but it misses.
Sanchez darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Nolty bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sanchez throws a hook to the side of Nolty's head but Nolty sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sanchez throws a big shot that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nolty on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. A clash of legs there as Sanchez blocks the low kick. Sanchez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. A big right from Nolty misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez thuds a left hand into Nolty's body. Sanchez blocks a head kick by Nolty.
Nick Nolty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nolty looks gassed! Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sanchez scores with the left hand. Nolty knows he should have avoided that one. Sanchez clobbers Nolty with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Nolty throws a head kick that misses. Sanchez lands a with a good body shot. Nice cross by Sanchez. Nolty showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sanchez.
Sanchez shoots in for a double leg but Nolty sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nolty throws a low kick but Sanchez avoids it. Sanchez feints and as Nolty raises his hands in defense, Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nolty keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nolty can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nolty has a closed guard, preventing Sanchez from standing up. Sanchez looking to pass the guard. Nolty controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself. Sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nolty is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez stands up from guard. Let's bang! Nolty on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Sanchez throws a series of punches but Nolty moves out of range. Sanchez checks the leg kick. Nolty misses with a head kick.
Sanchez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sanchez misses with a two punch combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nolty blocks a jab. Sanchez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sanchez scores a takedown into full mount! Sanchez is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Nolty is surviving well by controlling Sanchez's body position as best he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez controlling his opponent. Sanchez avoids the attempt from Nolty to control. Nolty is looking to improve his position but Sanchez isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diago Sanchez dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nolty throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sanchez counters with a one-two to the body. Nolty on the wrong end of a nice jab. Sanchez connects with a nice looking jab.
Sanchez tries to bum rush Nolty with a series of wild strikes but Nolty uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sanchez fails to land with a series of punches.
Nolty looks to land a combination but Sanchez avoids it well. Sanchez throws an overhand right that lands on Nolty's shoulder, as Nolty tries to avoid the shot. Diago Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nolty moves out of range as Sanchez strikes. A big right from Sanchez misses. Nolty tries to land a front kick but Sanchez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Sanchez scores with a nice right hand.
Nolty swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sanchez counters with a right hand to the body. Nolty walks into a left hand. Nolty is breathing heavily. Nolty displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sanchez throws out the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. A clash of legs there as Sanchez blocks the low kick. Nolty looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Sanchez cracks a nice hook into Nolty's ribs. Sanchez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sanchez scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Sanchez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nolty momentarily.
Sanchez swings for the body but Nolty moves out of range.
Nolty moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Sanchez shoots in but Nolty avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nolty has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nolty there as he acknowledges the shot. Sanchez digs a good hook to Nolty's body.
Sanchez lunges at Nolty with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Nolty's hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nolty throws a combination that misses and Sanchez counters with a stiff right hand. Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nolty as he jumps to the side. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sanchez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nolty at a distance.
Nolty bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sanchez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diago Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanchez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Sanchez waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Nolty. Sanchez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nolty momentarily.
Nick Nolty is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sanchez tries for a takedown but Nolty sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sanchez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nolty. Sanchez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sanchez looks to land a left hand but Nolty moved out of range nicely. Sanchez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Diago Sanchez is winning the standup battle so far. Sanchez connects with a jab. Sanchez blocks a jab. Nolty moves away from the strike by Sanchez. Nolty takes a swing at Sanchez's ribcage but misses. Nice shot by Sanchez. Sanchez scores a takedown into full mount! Sanchez is trying to take his opponent's back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez manages to capitalize on a mistake by Nolty to take his back! I really don't envy Nolty right now.
Nolty is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nolty is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Sanchez working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Sanchez biding his time, looking for the opening.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sanchez is hanging on to Nolty's back as he tries to escape.

Diago Sanchez dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

The fighters circling - Sanchez throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Decent striking displayed by Sanchez there. Sanchez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sanchez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Nolty takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Sanchez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nolty doesn't seem bothered though. Nolty lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sanchez circles away quickly and effectively. Nolty takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nolty walks into a left hand. Sanchez lands with a cross.

Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt - Nolty sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nolty throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sanchez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Sanchez is trying to control the action in half guard but Nolty is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sanchez not doing much here.
Nolty really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nolty is defending against the submission attempts here by Sanchez.
Sanchez is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Sanchez moves to take his opponent's back.

Sanchez tightening his grip on Nolty, looking for the choke. Sanchez is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Nolty with him. Nolty is trying to defend but Sanchez has an arm under the chin now! Nolty grimaces and is forced to tap out!
