Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larith Shun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larith Shun is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Larith Shun!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shun has his takedown stuffed
letting Anderson counter with a right hand.
Shun shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Anderson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Anderson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shun did well to prevent Anderson getting side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Shun is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Anderson is looking for a kimura here.
Shun gets full guard.
Anderson wants to pass the guard but Shun is keeping the position.
Anderson is working hard here to advance position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shun is trying to keep Anderson in close.
Anderson lands a couple of elbows.

Shun is working an open guard so Anderson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Shun shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Anderson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
John Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larith Shun.

Shun shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Anderson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Anderson is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Tycoon Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Shun got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shun has managed to get both his arms back between Anderson's legs - danger averted.
Anderson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Shun is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Shun pushes down on Anderson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Shun frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Anderson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shun trying to control but Anderson is having none of it.
Anderson is looking to improve his position but Shun isn't that keen on the idea.

Shun looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Shun pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Shun lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Anderson gets back to half guard.

Anderson looking for submissions off his back.
Shun has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shun is trying to control. Anderson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Shun is looking for a kimura but Anderson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shun to get the leverage.
Shun moves into full mount! Anderson won't be happy about that!
Anderson can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shun on the ground.
Shun looking to control but Anderson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shun is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Anderson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Shun scoring with strikes but Anderson is staying in there.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Shun looking to control and managing it successfully.
Shun looking to control but Anderson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Anderson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Larith Shun dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Anderson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Shun is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shun manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Shun's guard.

Anderson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Shun frees his head nicely. Oh but Anderson has switched to an armbar! Shun is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

John Anderson opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
