The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Gaal fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Van Gaal tries to sprawl but Bonanza drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Van Gaal manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bonanza keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bonanza is working for takedown but Van Gaal is calmly controlling the position for now.

Bonanza is trying to drag Van Gaal to the mat but Van Gaal just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
