Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Ayers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Dirksz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rick Dirksz!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ayers moves into the clinch.

Dirksz gets control of Ayers's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dirksz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Dirksz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ayers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dirksz wants to sweep here but Ayers controlling him for the moment.
Ayers is in close to Dirksz's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dirksz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dirksz controls Ayers momentarily but Ayers frees himself.
Dirksz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ayers manages to get himself to full guard.

Ayers wants to sweep here but Dirksz controlling him for the moment.
Dirksz postures up in Ayers's guard and throws a big left but Ayers blocks it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dirksz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ayers defends it well.
Ayers wants to improve his position but Dirksz is controlling well.
Ayers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dirksz is looking for a kimura but Ayers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dirksz to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ayers is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Ayers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dirksz cracks Ayers with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Dirksz wants to control but instead Ayers manages to regain half guard.
Dirksz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ayers's head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dirksz tries to break free but Ayers pushes him back against the cage.
Dirksz wants to get back to striking at distance but Ayers won't allow it.
Ayers blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Dirksz is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ayers gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Dirksz has hold of one of Ayers's legs. Ayers is fighting the takedown attempt but Dirksz gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Ayers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dirksz on the ground.

Dirksz goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ayers rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dirksz's guard! Nice work there by Ayers!

Dirksz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ayers keeps working.

Ayers changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Dirksz shoots in and drives through. Ayers sprawls well.

Dirksz shoots in but Ayers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ayers half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Dirksz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ayers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ayers showed some decent athleticism there.
Dirksz is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ayers scores with a couple of nice shots.
