Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Daze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Carlos Ortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan Carlos Ortega!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daze misses with a takedown attempt - Ortega sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Daze moves in looking to clinch but Ortega pushes him off.

Daze is just content to waste time from the top position. Ortega takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Ortega escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Daze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Daze changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ortega looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Daze accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
