The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Micheal has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Andrew Micheal has been cut.
Micheal dives in and grabs Machida's left leg, looking for a takedown. Machida pushes down on Micheal's head and hops out.
Machida lands a two punch combo.
Machida moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Machida closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Micheal to the mat! Micheal manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machida's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Machida pushes down on Micheal's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Still in half guard, Machida seems content to control.

Machida is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Micheal has managed to free his arm - good work.
Micheal is in trouble now - Machida has advanced to mount!

Micheal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Machida on the ground.
Machida takes Micheal's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Micheal is in trouble.

Machida has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Micheal! Can he survive? No! He's out! Machida gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
