Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreas Schmelzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace comes into the arena with BraveHeart blaring out of the sound system. William Wallace has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William Wallace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andreas Schmelzer! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Wallace not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Schmelzer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schmelzer is still trying to improve position. Schmelzer looking to control but Wallace passes into half guard.
Schmelzer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Schmelzer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmelzer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Wallace looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schmelzer controlling from the top position. Schmelzer's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Schmelzer pushes down on Wallace's leg and manages to get into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Schmelzer in particular looking to stall. Schmelzer wants to free his trapped foot but Wallace is holding on for dear life with his legs. Schmelzer wants to control but Wallace is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Schmelzer is taking a breather. Wallace says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Wallace is staying active underneath Schmelzer, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wallace is holding on to half guard well. Schmelzer trying to control the action but Wallace is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Wallace trying to control here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wallace has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Schmelzer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schmelzer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wallace really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wallace takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Schmelzer finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Wallace looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. A solid leg kick lands there for Schmelzer.
Wallace takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Wallace drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Schmelzer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wallace's guard. Wallace wants to control but Schmelzer passes easily into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schmelzer not landing any meaningful shots this time. Schmelzer passes to full mount! Schmelzer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wallace is looking to escape. Wallace tries to hold on but Schmelzer pushes him away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schmelzer wants to control the pace but Wallace is squirming around nicely. Wallace is looking to improve his position but Schmelzer isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallace tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Schmelzer. Wallace seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Wallace tries to clinch up. Wallace walks forward, straight into a front kick from Schmelzer. Schmelzer throws a wild body kick that Wallace sees coming a mile off. Schmelzer throws a sloppy head kick and Wallace moves out of range easily. Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schmelzer swats him away and circles back towards the center. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmelzer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Schmelzer misses with a kick to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace tries for a takedown but Schmelzer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Horrible takedown attempt by Wallace or perhaps it was just good defense by Schmelzer, which made it look bad. Schmelzer appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Wallace feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Schmelzers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Schmelzer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Wallace looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schmelzer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schmelzer as he avoids it easily. Schmelzer leaves Wallace with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace tries to clinch and Schmelzer counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Wallace has his takedown stuffed and Schmelzer counters with a nice body kick. Schmelzer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wallace but Wallace pushes him off and we're back to square one. Wallace fails to land with a series of punches.
Schmelzer raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Wallace shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Schmelzer napping and manages to drive through into side control! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! You can see the frustration on Schmelzer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Schmelzer manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wallace's best efforts. Schmelzer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wallace is working away from the top position though. Wallace will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schmelzer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Wallace controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Schmelzer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Schmelzer is trying to keep Wallace in close.

Schmelzer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Schmelzer trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schmelzer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Schmelzer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Andreas Schmelzer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Wallace's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Schmelzer wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wallace tries to clinch up but Schmelzer circles away and keeps his distance. Wallace on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Schmelzer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Schmelzer is in Wallace's guard. Andreas Schmelzer has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace keeping moving, preventing Schmelzer from controlling successfully. Wallace is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Schmelzer trying to control but Wallace postures up.
Schmelzer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wallace haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Schmelzer is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. William Wallace has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wallace throws a head kick that misses and Schmelzer counters with a good low kick that Wallace was not able to check.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Andreas Schmelzer. I've got Schmelzer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
