Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quian Kane!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Steele!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele shoots in and drives through. Kane sprawls well.

Steele shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kane manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
My spies in The Ultimate Fight House inform me that Steele has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Steele postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Steele wants to pass the guard but Kane is keeping the position.
Steele has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kane can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steele controls the pace.

Steele throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kane works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kane wants to stand but Steele is controlling the position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Steele wants to control from the top but Kane keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Steele working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kane's head.
Steele trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Steele throws a strike but Kane rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Steele has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kane can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kane is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Steele is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kane pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kane throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like George Steele has been cut.
Kane paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Kane instigates a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Kane.
Steele is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Steele can't get the takedown.
Quian Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Steele.
Steele looks winded!

Steele turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Steele manages to end up in side control.

Steele tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kane tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Steele wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kane manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Kane decides to stand back up.
Steele gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Steele takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kane throws a body shot but no joy.
Steele closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kane circles away.
Kane lands with a cross.
Steele shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense.

Kane has Steele up against the ropes in a clinch.

Kane gets underhooks to prevent Steele's takedown attempt.
Kane working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Kane has a couple of punches blocked by Steele.
Kane throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Steele is looking to take this one to the mat.
Kane struggles to land a body shot inside as Steele controls his hands.
Kane scores with a nice hook to the head.
Kane lands a nice uppercut.
Kane makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Steele is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Kane gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Steele is trying to pull guard but Kane has him pressed against the ropes.

Still in the clinch, Kane scores with a nice short uppercut.

A nice left hand lands by Kane.
Kane has a couple of punches blocked by Steele.
Kane misses with a short punch on the inside.

Steele changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kane fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kane throws a pinpoint strike between Steele's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Steele crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Kane scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Quian Kane!
Quian Kane retains his super heavyweight title!
An out of breath Quian Kane thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
