Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Rodrigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pablo Rodrigo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rory Williams!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigo lands a leg kick that knocks Williams off balance momentarily.

Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Rodrigo bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Rodrigo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
We've been told by Rodrigo's head coaches at Wreckshop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rodrigo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Williams moves away.
Rodrigo tries to bum rush Williams with a series of wild strikes but Williams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Williams feints the counter takedown.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rodrigo lands with a slapping head kick.
Rodrigo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Rodrigo just misses with a punch to the body.
Williams changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Rodrigo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rodrigo lands with a shot to the body.

Williams throws a sloppy body shot
and Rodrigo counters with a right hand to the body.

Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rodrigo wants to get back to his feet but Williams passes into half guard.

Williams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Williams wants to work for an arm triangle but Rodrigo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rodrigo is staying active underneath Williams, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rodrigo has his hands clasped together around Williams's back. He's all about the action.
Rodrigo is not content to let Williams control the position.

Williams is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rodrigo wants to get back to full guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Williams working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Williams is taking a breather. Rodrigo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Rodrigo is not content to let Williams control the position.
Williams is looking to advance position but Rodrigo won't allow it.
Williams moves nicely into side control.
Rodrigo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Williams's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Williams prevents Rodrigo from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams is looking to take a break and control but Rodrigo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Rodrigo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rodrigo stuns Williams with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Williams counters with a single leg into guard. Rodrigo didn't expect that.
Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rodrigo wants to sweep but no luck.
Rodrigo keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pablo Rodrigo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Williams fails with the takedown
and Rodrigo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rodrigo lands a glancing blow to the side of Williams's head.
A combination from Rodrigo does no damage.
It seemed like Williams was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Williams takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rodrigo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rodrigo sprawls well. Rodrigo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.

Rodrigo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Williams.
Williams drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rodrigo defends it well.
Williams takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Rodrigo throws a lazy head kick

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Williams is keen to just control but Rodrigo is a slippery customer.
Williams wants to free his trapped foot but Rodrigo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rodrigo is trying to stand back up but Williams is controlling him
Rodrigo wants to improve his position but Williams is controlling well.
Rodrigo is trying to stand.

Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rodrigo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Williams moves away.
Williams shoots in and drives through. Rodrigo sprawls well.
Williams throws a jab but it's blocked by Rodrigo.
Rodrigo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Rodrigo throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A punch combination from Rodrigo misses.
Rodrigo moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Rodrigo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rodrigo chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rodrigo lands a jab-cross combination.


Williams is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rodrigo throws a leg kick which misses Williams's front leg but catches the back leg as Williams tries to avoid it.
Williams is still on wobbly legs! Can Rodrigo finish him?
Rodrigo is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The fighters circle, before Rodrigo throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Williams's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Rodrigo lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Pablo Rodrigo!
During a confident post fight interview, Pablo Rodrigo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
