Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jagger Carreon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hwai Ja!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ja closes the distance but Carreon moves to the side
and Carreon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Carreon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ja doesn't seem bothered though.
Ja on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ja tries to clinch
enabling Carreon to counter with a crisp jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Ja.
Carreon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ja throws a shot from downtown. Carreon moves away and avoids it.
Ja connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Carreon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ja ducks right into an uppercut from Carreon.
Carreon looks to score with a jab to the body but Ja is just out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carreon misses with a two punch combination.

Ja gets a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Carreon.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ja lands a hook that snaps the head of Carreon backwards.
Ja blocking some punches.

Carreon manages to break the clinch.
Carreon checks the leg kick.
Ja misses with an uppercut
and Carreon counters with a series of strikes. Ja will be more careful next time no doubt.
Ja throws a shot from downtown. Carreon moves away and avoids it.
Carreon tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Ja manages to circle out of the way.
Ja tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Carreon to counter with a crisp jab.
Ja tries to clinch up but Carreon circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ja blocks a body shot from Carreon.
Carreon lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Carreon's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Carreon prevents a body shot from Ja.
Carreon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Carreon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ja has him pressed against the ropes.
Ja doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
I was talking to Carreon's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Carreon is trying to break the clinch but Ja has him pressed against the ropes.
A frustrated look appears on Carreon's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ja working aggressively here.
Ja misses with a punch on the inside.
Carreon struggles to land a body shot inside as Ja controls his hands.
A nice right hand lands inside from Ja.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Carreon breaks from the clinch.
Ja lunges at Carreon with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Carreon's hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carreon lands with an uppercut that bounces Ja off the ropes and back into range.
Carreon looks to land a combination. Ja sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Carreon ducks under a wild hook from Ja.
Carreon seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ja uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carreon.
Nice defenses there by Ja.
Ja throws a leg kick which misses Carreon's front leg but catches the back leg as Carreon tries to avoid it.
Ja throws a quick inside leg kick.

Ja has managed to clinch.
Ja lands with a light punch inside.
Ja missing with knees to the body.
Ja with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Carreon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That kick from Ja tenderised Carreon's leg. Carreon is trying to keep his angry face on.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Good work by Carreon as he checks the leg kick.
Good leg kick by Ja there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hwai Ja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Carreon.
Carreon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ja clinches up with Carreon and pushes him back against the ropes.
Carreon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A head punch on the inside from Ja fails to land.
Carreon blocking some punches.

Carreon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ja tries to clinch
and Carreon counters with a straight right hand.
Ja is looking to slow Carreon down with leg kicks.

Oooooh!!! Carreon has knocked Ja down with a huge combo! Carreon steps away and waves a wobbly Ja back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Ja is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jagger Carreon dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Ja avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ja is still on wobbly legs! Can Carreon finish him?
Ja tries to clinch but Carreon moves out of range.
Carreon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carreon sets himself, and Ja steps forward looking for the clinch! Carreon avoids it this time.
Ja seems to have recovered his senses.
Carreon displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Ja tries to clinch but Carreon is having none of it.
Ja throws a solid leg kick but Carreon takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ja.
Carreon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jagger Carreon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carreon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Carreon takes a swing at Ja's ribcage but misses.
Ja drops his hands for a split second and Carreon immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Ja face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Carreon follows up with a right hand that knocks Ja into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jagger Carreon!
