Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Weston Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stroke Play (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weston Perez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Weston Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stroke Play! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Play throws a combination that misses and Perez counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Play! Play explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Play is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Play misses with a double jab.
Perez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Play tries to bum rush Perez with a series of wild strikes but Perez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Perez appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Play tries to clinch up but Perez circles away and keeps his distance. Play misses with a takedown attempt and Perez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Play has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Perez is on him like a limpet, forcing Play back against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Perez keeps control of Play as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Play tries to break the clinch but Perez is controlling the position. Perez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Perez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Play to keep the fight standing. Perez is pushing Play up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Play leaning against his opponent.
Play lands with a right to the head. Perez slowing the pace effectively. Perez misses with a short punch on the inside. Perez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Play after a bit of a struggle. Perez missing with knees to the body.
Play gets through Perez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Play tries for a takedown but Perez manages to get underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Play's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Play shoots in but no luck this time. Perez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Weston Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stroke Play. Perez blocks a head kick by Play.
It looked like Perez was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Play. Play fails to land the takedown. Play shoots in looking for a takedown but Perez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Play's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice shot by Play. Perez lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Play throws a combination that misses and Perez counters with a two punch combo. Play looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Play shoots for a double leg takedown but Perez sprawls well. He's pushed Play's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A quick step to the side and Perez tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Perez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Play avoids the body shot from Perez.
A combination from Play does no damage. Play clinches with his opponent.
Perez jumps guard but Play stands there with Perez around his waist. Perez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Come on Perez - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez gets control of Play's arms and successfully pulls guard. Perez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Perez is looking to stand up but Play isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perez has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Play has passed into side control.
Perez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Perez is trying to improve his position. Play goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Perez rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Play's guard! Nice work there by Perez! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Perez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Play dives on top into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stroke Play dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Play fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Perez avoids it really well and circles away. It looked like Perez was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Play. Play fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Play tests Perez's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Play. Perez thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Play if he has to take too many more of those.

That's one minute gone in the round. Play closes the distance and lands a one-two. Stroke Play seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Play throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Perez goes for a double leg but Play avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Play continues to drive forward. Play clinches up against the cage. Play wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Perez has him pressed against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Perez. Play has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Play lands with a short shot to the head. Play blocks a body shot from Perez. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Perez. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Play as Perez tries to tie him up. Perez slows down the pace here.

Perez just leaning against Play, taking a breather. Play lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Perez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Play's efforts to push away. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Perez throws an elbow that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez tries to throw a body punch but Play avoids it by throwing Perez back against the cage. Perez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Play tries to circle away but Perez has him pinned against the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Perez misses with a body punch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Perez takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Weston Perez. Play lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Perez circles away quickly and effectively.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. No luck with that takedown attempt from Play. Play tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Perez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Perez throws a big counter combination but Play scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Play throws a series of punches but Perez avoids them all with ease. Play fails with the takedown. Weston Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stroke Play. Play lands with a shot to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Play misses with a takedown attempt and Perez counters with a nice leg kick. Play is breathing heavily. Perez works Play's body with a nice hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stroke Play showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Play wants to clinch but Perez slips to the side and Perez counters with a lovely shot to the body. Play fails in his attempt to clinch. Perez attempts a counter takedown but Play avoids it well and moves away. Play closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Perez lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Play avoids the elbow strike from Perez, against the cage.

Play fails with the takedown and Perez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Play darts in looking for a takedown but Perez gets double underhooks and turns Play into the cage. Play tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Perez swivels and escapes. Weston Perez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Stroke Play is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Play misses with a straight left. A counter left hand to the body from Perez misses its target.
And that's the end of the fight! Weston Perez showed his dominance in that final round. Well Play has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
