PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Ray Kshymensky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kshymensky comes into a darkened arena with his song building. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVA-xTBeHyM kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Ray Kshymensky!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kshymensky shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kshymensky should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kshymensky tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.

Jones clinches up against the cage.
Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kshymensky looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.

Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kshymensky for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kshymensky wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jones.

Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kshymensky tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones looking to secure an arm triangle but Kshymensky defends it well.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jones scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Jones looks for a takedown but Kshymensky sprawls well.
Kshymensky swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kshymensky fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jones landing knees to the head.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Kshymensky, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Kshymensky against the cage but Kshymensky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kshymensky throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.

Kshymensky throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.

Jones moves into the clinch successfully.
Kshymensky tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kshymensky tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Kshymensky in a clinch.

Jones tightens his grip and picks Kshymensky up, before dumping him to the ground. Kshymensky manages to land in guard.
Jones with a flurry of punches that miss.

Kshymensky is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kshymensky is wriggling around but Jones manages to pass to half guard.
Kshymensky slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Kshymensky has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.

Kshymensky is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jones is looking to clinch but Kshymensky is avoiding it.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kshymensky feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Kshymensky changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kshymensky postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kshymensky is controlling him.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Kshymensky is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Jones looking to control but Kshymensky is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kshymensky tries to hold on but Jones pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Jones slips a jab and a cross from Kshymensky.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kshymensky.

Kshymensky takes the fight into the clinch.
Kshymensky wants to break free but Jones has control.
Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kshymensky gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jones wants the takedown. Kshymensky is fighting it off but Jones persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kshymensky's guard against the cage.
Kshymensky wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kshymensky is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Kshymensky is keeping the position.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kshymensky looking for a triangle here. Jones is fighting it but it looks tight! Kshymensky pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jones is tapping out - this one is all over!
