PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mariano Neal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bailey Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mariano Neal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bailey Evans !
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Neal is trying to defend but Evans finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Evans decides to stand up.
Evans lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Neal circles away quickly and effectively.

Evans gets a takedown into half guard.

Neal kicks off Evans and gets to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Neal drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Neal throws a strike but Evans rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Neal wants to get back to his feet but Evans is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neal manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Evans catches Neal with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Evans misses with a series of wild punches.
Neal really is a fat lump.
Evans throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Neal tries to counter with a takedown but Evans is quick to defend against it.

Evans looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Evans throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Neal was covering up waiting for the punch and Evans finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Neal wants to stand and escape but Evans is having none of it.
Neal strikes from his own guard.

Neal is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Evans ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Evans no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Evans is working an open guard so Neal takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Evans scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Evans wants to control but Neal is keeping him busy.
Neal looks like he's trying to stand up.
Still in half guard, Evans seems content to control.

Neal is trying is best to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neal trying to hold on to Evans 's head to control him but Evans postures up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Neal is not content to let Evans control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Evans shoots in and bounces Neal off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Neal is working an open guard so Evans takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bailey Evans will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Evans works over Neal's head and body with a nice combination.

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neal darts in and clinches Evans up against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Evans tries to break the clinch but Neal is controlling the position.
We've been informed that Evans has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Neal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Evans just stands there and leans against the cage.
Neal controlling the action here for a moment.
Neal trying to control the position but instead, Evans has worked for underhooks and has pushed Neal into the cage.
Still in the clinch, Evans scores with a nice short uppercut.
Neal is trying to maintain a safe position but Evans gets an underhook and turns Neal into the cage.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Mariano Neal.

Evans gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Evans throws a solid leg kick but Neal takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Evans .

Evans moves into the clinch.

Neal jumps guard.
Neal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Evans gets to his feet. Neal looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Evans misses with a double jab
and Neal counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Neal has a takedown stuffed.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Neal shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Evans counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mariano Neal. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Evans bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Evans decides to stand back up. Evans steps back and let's Neal get back to his feet.

Evans changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Neal looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Evans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Neal keeps working.
Neal struggling a bit here.

Evans is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Neal is trying to escape and Evans transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Neal is forced to tap! Nice work there by Evans ! Very nice indeed!

Bailey Evans very nearly forgot to thank KnockOut amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
