PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pavlo Bilous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Fellows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pavlo Bilous!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Fellows!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fellows connects with a high kick.
Bilous missing with a left hand there. Fellows was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Good leg kick by Fellows there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bilous misses with a hook.
Fellows unleashes a big counter combination but Bilous bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Fellows moves out of range of the strikes.
Fellows swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Fellows has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bilous is landing a low percentage of strikes.

We've been hearing reports that Bilous has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Bilous is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bilous has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bilous escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fellows gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fellows got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bilous has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fellows has managed to get both his arms back between Bilous's legs - danger averted.
Fellows controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
