The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gonzalez takes one on the button.

Gonzalez misses with a wild combination.
Silva tries to move into range but Gonzalez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Gonzalez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Gonzalez looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.

Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez shoots in but no luck this time.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Gonzalez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Silva.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
A chopping leg kick lands by Gonzalez.
Gonzalez connects with a single shot there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Silva gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt
and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jesse Gonzalez's cut is getting worse.
Silva lands a right hook to the body.
Silva throws a series of strikes that have Gonzalez backpedaling.
Silva has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Silva throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Gonzalez crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
