Kingston has chosen Public Enemy - Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Mawson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Kingston! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mawson throws a head kick that misses. Mawson misses with a series of wild punches.
Mawson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kingston closes the distance and lands a one-two. Kingston rushes Mawson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kingston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mawson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kingston. Mawson misses with a few strikes there.
Kingston moves into range and clinches up with Mawson. Kingston turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Mawson wants to get back to his feet. Kingston landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mawson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kingston asserts his dominance and retains side control. Kingston decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mawson to his feet. Mawson doesn't manage to clinch there - Kingston circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kingston scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Mawson throws a series of punches but Kingston avoids them all with ease. Mawson is breathing heavily. Mawson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kingston lands with a straight right. Mawson didn't see that one coming. Kingston scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Nice straight punches there by Kingston. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kingston. Kingston ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Kingston pushes Mawson up against the cage in a clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A right handed body shot lands from Kingston.

Kingston lands with a straight right. Mawson didn't see that one coming. Kingston punishes Mawson's body with a nice straight punch. Kingston lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kingston lunges at Mawson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mawson's hand. Kingston sizes up Mawson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kingston lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kingston throws a left that rocks Mawson and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kingston dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Mawson regain composure!
Mawson is rocked! Kingston lands a strong strike to the head of Mawson. That's dazed him! Kingston looking to finish here. Mawson is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Kingston lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddie Kingston! Eddie Kingston retains his light heavyweight title!
