Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hayder Abdul Rahman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santiago Gonzalez! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abdul Rahman stuffs the takedown. Abdul Rahman appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Gonzalez shoots in looking for a takedown. Abdul Rahman tries to sprawl out of it but Gonzalez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Abdul Rahman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gonzalez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Abdul Rahman is staying active underneath Gonzalez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gonzalez lands a nice short elbow. Gonzalez is pressing down on Abdul Rahman's thigh, looking to free his foot. That's one minute gone in the round. Abdul Rahman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Gonzalez is keen to just control but Abdul Rahman is a slippery customer. Abdul Rahman is looking for a sweep. Gonzalez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gonzalez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Abdul Rahman defends it well. Abdul Rahman wants to get back to full guard. Gonzalez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Abdul Rahman trying to control but Gonzalez postures up.
Gonzalez looks to land a strike but Abdul Rahman avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Abdul Rahman has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gonzalez doesn't defend quickly enough and Abdul Rahman has managed to lock this one up! Can Gonzalez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Abdul Rahman on a fantastic submission victory.
