The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frohme gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Frohme pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A head kick misses from Frohme. Frohme throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haffie's waist but Haffie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frohme off to one side. Haffie pushes Frohme up against the cage in a clinch. Frohme has clasped his hands together around Haffie's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Haffie is looking for a sweep. Haffie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Frohme is trying to stand up here but Haffie is controlling him well. Haffie is trying to work for a kimura but Frohme is defending well.

Haffie has gone for a leg lock! Frohme slips out almost immediately though and dives into Haffie's guard. Frohme postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haffie working a defensive guard but Frohme passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Haffie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Frohme pulls his head out easily. Haffie looks gassed! Frohme content to control rather than advance. Haffie is looking to improve his position.
Frohme thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Frohme wants to control but Haffie is keeping him busy. Frohme trying to control the pace. Haffie is looking for a sweep. Frohme is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Frohme is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Haffie doesn't succeed with the takedown so Frohme counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Frohme is pushing down on Haffie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Haffie is fighting to maintain full guard but Frohme has managed to sneak the leg through. Frohme not doing much here.
Frohme is trying to work for a kimura but Haffie is defending well.
Haffie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Haffie keeping moving, preventing Frohme from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haffie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frohme's guard. Haffie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Frohme is keeping the position for now. Haffie wants to control from the top but Frohme keeps moving. Frohme manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haffie manages to get himself to full guard.

Frohme shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Haffie counters with a single leg into guard. Frohme didn't expect that. Haffie wants to control from the top but Frohme keeps moving. Frohme looking for a guillotine here but Haffie defends easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Haffie shoots and misses and Frohme holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Frohme gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Haffie regains guard.
Haffie is looking for a triangle but Frohme pushes his legs off easily.
Haffie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Haffie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Haffie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Frohme would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Haffie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Haffie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Frohme is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Haffie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Frohme's back instead. Frohme showing good submission defense here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haffie is looking for the choke from the back position but Frohme is controlling his hands well. You can see the frustration on Frohme's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
