Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shawn Archer could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ed Hudson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shawn Archer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Hudson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer tries to clinch but Hudson is having none of it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Archer takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Archer is looking for a choke. Hudson gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Hudson manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Hudson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Archer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Archer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hudson defends well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Archer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hudson defends it easily.

Archer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hudson has picked Archer up and slammed him! Archer can't keep hold of the triangle and Hudson manages to pass to side control!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Archer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hudson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hudson!

Archer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hudson manages to get himself to full guard.

Archer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Archer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hudson for as long as he can get away with.
Archer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Archer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hudson as he jumps to the side.
Ed Hudson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Archer closes the distance and clinches up with Hudson, looking for a takedown. Archer pushes Hudson against the cage but Hudson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shawn Archer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hudson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Archer circles away quickly and effectively.

Hudson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Horrible takedown attempt by Archer or perhaps it was just good defense by Hudson, which made it look bad.

Hudson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hudson wants it to stay on the feet.

Archer darts in looking for a takedown but Hudson gets double underhooks and turns Archer into the cage.

Archer is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Hudson is forced to tap! Great finish!
