1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Szandor Storm! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Storm drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A chopping leg kick lands by McGuire. McGuire closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Storm quickly recovers to half guard. Storm has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. McGuire lands with a punch from half guard. Storm looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Storm gets tackled into the cage by McGuire. McGuire maintains the clinch. Storm blocks a body shot from McGuire. Storm is working for takedown but McGuire is calmly controlling the position for now. Storm is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McGuire to keep the fight standing. Still in the clinch, McGuire scores with a nice short uppercut. McGuire lands a hook to the side of the head. A right hand to the body from McGuire.
I was talking to McGuire's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. McGuire works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Storm throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Storm is looking to improve his position but McGuire isn't that keen on the idea. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McGuire can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Storm is looking to escape. Storm is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Storm that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
McGuire with the ground and pound from mount. McGuire lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. McGuire postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Storm looks a forlorn figure.
McGuire pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Storm is rocked! McGuire controlling his opponent. Storm is still in real trouble! Can McGuire finish him? Oooooh, big shot lands for McGuire! Storm is hurt baaadly! McGuire is firing away with more strikes - Storm is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
