The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newell throws a wild body kick that Johnson sees coming a mile off.

Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw.

and Newell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Newell is rocked!
Newell drops his hands momentarily. Johnson doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Newell staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Newell doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
