Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Karager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Phillips! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Karager! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karager is looking to clinch. Phillips wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Phillips stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Phillips wants it to stay on the feet. Karager misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Karager tries to clinch there but Phillips circles away.
Karager throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Karager darts in and out, connecting with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Phillips circles away from the clinch attempt.

Phillips tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Karager swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karager darts in looking for a takedown but Phillips gets double underhooks and turns Karager into the cage. Alex Phillips has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Karager. Karager shoots in looking for a takedown. Phillips tries to sprawl out of it but Karager keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Phillips manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Phillips stuffs the takedown. Karager rushes Phillips and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Karager drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Karager or perhaps it was just good defense by Phillips, which made it look bad. Phillips is looking for a counter combo. Karager closes the distance but Phillips moves to the side and Phillips counters with a slapping leg kick. Phillips on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Karager dives in for a single leg takedown but Phillips sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Phillips gets the takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Phillips decides to stand back up. Phillips keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Karager gets caught flat footed, as Phillips shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Karager is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Phillips dives into side control.
Phillips is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Phillips wants to control but Karager is keeping him busy. Karager is letting Phillips control him for a moment. Phillips scoring with punches and elbows. Phillips is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Karager will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Phillips stays in close to Karager's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karager wants to sweep but no luck. Karager is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Phillips might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Karager escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Phillips gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Karager is breathing heavily. Phillips distracts Karager with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Phillips is looking to stand up but Karager won't let him. Phillips is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Karager has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Phillips has Karager pressed against the cage.
Phillips breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice sprawl there from Phillips as Karager shoots in. Alex Phillips is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Karager shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phillips but Phillips pushes him off and we're back to square one. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Karager shoots and misses and Phillips counters with a two punch combo. Karager moves out of range of the body kick. And Karager tries to counter it with a takedown but Phillips pushes his down on his head and steps out. Karager shoots in and drives through. Phillips sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phillips takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Phillips in particular looking to stall. Karager is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Phillips scores with a couple of nice shots. Karager wants to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Alex Phillips showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Phillips, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
