Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Graig Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Graig Cooke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kevin Hayes! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cooke counters by moving into the clinch. Hayes pulls Cooke into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hayes pulls Cooke in close to prevent any damage. Cooke loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cooke accidentally thumps the mat. It's a sloppy attempt though and Cooke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hayes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cooke with a flurry of punches that miss. Cooke trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Cooke postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Cooke working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hayes's head. Cooke postures up and lands a big shot to Hayes's brow. Cooke with a flurry of punches that miss. Cooke throwing strikes from guard but Hayes blocks nicely. Hayes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cooke lands a couple of decent looking shots. Cooke wanted to stand there but Hayes had control of the position. Cooke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hayes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cooke, into his guard. Hayes is pushing down on Cooke's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cooke is fighting to maintain full guard but Hayes has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayes wants to work for an arm triangle but Cooke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hayes is just content to waste time from the top position. Cooke takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Hayes throws a big right hand that misses. Hayes wants to control from the top but Cooke keeps moving. Hayes wants to pass the guard but Cooke is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayes trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cooke manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hayes trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hayes is looking for a triangle but Cooke pushes his legs off easily.
Cooke makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cooke's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hayes has his foot on Cooke's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cooke works his way back into a safe position though. Cooke drops back looking for a leg! Hayes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hayes manages to kick Cooke off! Cooke jumps back into Hayes's guard. Cooke landing with the ground and pound.

Cooke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cooke postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hayes looking to control.
Cooke cracks Hayes with a solid left hand. Cooke stands and steps away. Hayes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Hayes looks winded! Hayes with a poor takedown and Cooke counters with a thumping low kick. Hayes dives in and grabs Cooke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cooke pushes down on Hayes's head and hops out. Cooke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cooke wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. A frustrated look appears on Cooke's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cooke wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Graig Cooke dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cooke is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hayes is keeping busy. Cooke taking a breather. A short body shot lands from Hayes as the two fighters clinch.
Hayes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Cooke is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Cooke stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hayes with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Hayes dives in and grabs Cooke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cooke pushes down on Hayes's head and hops out. As Hayes tries to get set, Cooke tries to push him back and clinch up but Hayes manages to avoid the attempt. Graig Cooke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Hayes. Hayes throws a hook but Cooke avoids it easily. Hayes is looking to clinch. Hayes connects with a leg kick. Cooke looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Hayes goes for a double leg but Cooke avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cooke continues to drive forward. Hayes is breathing heavily. Cooke fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Graig Cooke is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cooke drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Cooke makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cooke content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hayes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooke swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hayes wants to control from the top but Cooke keeps moving. Hayes wanted to stand there but Cooke had control of the position. Cooke wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hayes tries to work over Cooke's front leg with a kick but Cooke checks it. Cooke is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hayes. Hayes gets caught flat footed, as Cooke shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Cooke wants to stand but Hayes is controlling his posture from full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Graig Cooke dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

It looks like Graig Cooke has been cut. Hayes doesn't manage to clinch there - Cooke circles away.
Cooke keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. As Hayes tries to get set, Cooke tries to push him back and clinch up but Hayes manages to avoid the attempt. Hayes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cooke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hayes can do to turn this around? That sent Cooke stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Hayes doesn't manage to clinch there - Cooke circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. As Hayes looks to move away, Cooke throws a big counter combo but Hayes just gets out of the way. The fight moves into the clinch position. Cooke tries to break the clinch but Hayes is controlling the position. Cooke is looking to break free of the clinch but Hayes has double underhooks. Hayes manages to break the clinch.

Cooke is looking to counter the offense by Hayes and move into the clinch. Hayes tries to clinch up but Cooke circles away and keeps his distance. Horrible takedown attempt by Cooke or perhaps it was just good defense by Hayes, which made it look bad. Hayes closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooke tries to land a front kick but Hayes steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hayes throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hayes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cooke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hayes somewhat. Kevin Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hayes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fight stays on the outside here - Cooke looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kevin Hayes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Graig Cooke is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cooke avoids the head kick by Hayes.
And that's the end of the fight! Kevin Hayes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cooke has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
