Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Count Foo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris Lovelair! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foo lands a nice shot that snaps Lovelair's head back.
Foo dodges the punch combination from Lovelair.
Foo tries to bum rush Lovelair with a series of wild strikes but Lovelair uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Foo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lovelair. Foo throws a right and a left that Lovelair avoids nicely. Foo tests Lovelair's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lovelair scores with a jab. Lovelair takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Some wild striking there from Foo.
Lovelair is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Lovelair thumps Foo with a low kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lovelair slips a jab and a cross from Foo.
Foo drops his hands momentarily and Lovelair takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Lovelair has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Foo ducks under a wild hook from Lovelair. Foo scores with a jab. Foo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Foo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Lovelair is predictable there and Foo counters with a stiff right hand. Lovelair moves in looking to clinch but Foo pushes him off. Foo fails to land with a series of punches.
Foo throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lovelair.
A punch combination from Lovelair misses. Lovelair throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Foo counters with a left and a right that stings Lovelair. Foo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lovelair is rocked! Foo dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Lovelair is still on wobbly legs! Can Foo finish him? Foo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad The Island in the buildup to the fight. Foo closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Lovelair! Foo dives in looking to finish! Lovelair is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Count Foo! Count Foo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
