Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between luis marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jhonny Mulligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jhonny Mulligan!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mulligan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has marques pinned against the cage. marques gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mulligan tries to close the distance and clinch but marques swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mulligan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
marques lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Jhonny Mulligan has been cut.
marques shoots in and bounces Mulligan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mulligan trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Mulligan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mulligan working for a triangle but marques defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mulligan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. marques gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

marques trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
marques trying to control the position from guard on top but Mulligan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
marques lands a couple of digs.
marques throws a strike but Mulligan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
marques really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
marques is trying to control the position but Mulligan postures up.

Mulligan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
marques controlling the position.
marques wants to hit a switch here but Mulligan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for marques there!
marques is wriggling around trying to escape.
marques is in a horrible position here. Mulligan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
marques tries to hold on but Mulligan postures up.

Poor strikes thrown by Mulligan there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
marques tries to reverse the position but Mulligan maintains control.
Mulligan breaks from marques's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Mulligan is working for a guillotine from mount but marques frees his head quite easily.
Mulligan wants to finish this one by submission but marques is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mulligan.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
marques blocking the ground and pound.
marques tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee warns marques that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
marques working to try and regain half guard.
marques is working hard here to advance position.
Mulligan lands a big shot there that rocks marques but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
marques looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mulligan is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but marques pulls his head out easily.
marques seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mulligan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
marques works his foot free and advances to mount.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mulligan flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Mulligan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

marques can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mulligan is looking to escape.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mulligan is trying to control but can't.
marques trying to control from Mulligan's half guard. Mulligan has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
marques wants to stand but Mulligan is controlling his posture from full guard.

Mulligan is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but marques frees his head nicely. Oh but Mulligan has switched to an armbar! marques is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
