Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Art Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Death Stroke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Art Acevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Death Stroke! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acevedo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stroke circles away. Death Stroke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Acevedo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stroke's waist but Stroke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Acevedo off to one side. Stroke misses with a body kick. Acevedo shoots in and drives through. Stroke sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Art Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stroke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Stroke trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Acevedo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Stroke working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Acevedo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stroke trying to control the position from guard on top but Acevedo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Acevedo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Stroke is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stroke wants to control but Acevedo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Stroke scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Acevedo manages to mount him!
Stroke wants to control but Acevedo is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acevedo throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Acevedo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Stroke is surviving well by controlling Acevedo's body position as best he can. Stroke is squirming around, avoiding Acevedo's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stroke is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Acevedo looking to secure an arm triangle but Stroke defends it well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stroke can do anything to dispel that myth. Stroke is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stroke avoids a series of strikes thrown by Acevedo.
Acevedo scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Acevedo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stroke is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Stroke is looking to improve his position but Acevedo isn't that keen on the idea. Stroke looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A lull in the action here.

Art Acevedo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Acevedo moves in looking to clinch but Stroke pushes him off. Acevedo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Acevedo fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Stroke gets a double leg takedown into Acevedo's guard. Stroke slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Acevedo is trying to control the position but Stroke postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stroke trying to control the position from guard on top but Acevedo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Acevedo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Stroke frees his head nicely. Oh but Acevedo has switched to an armbar! Stroke is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
