Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kaice Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Stanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanson has chosen Until The End as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaice Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Stanson!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Stanson backs up against the cage.


It looks like Brian Stanson has been cut.

Gunn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stanson to the mat! Stanson manages to get full guard.

Gunn stays in close to Stanson's body and controls the position.

We've been hearing good reports from Gunn's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gunn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gunn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Stanson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gunn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gunn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stanson can't keep his opponent in guard - Gunn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Stanson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gunn is looking to counter with head kicks.

Stanson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gunn defends it nicely.

As Stanson tries to get set, Gunn tries to push him back and clinch up but Stanson manages to avoid the attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And Stanson tries to counter it with a takedown but Gunn pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Stanson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gunn pulls his leg out and moves away.

Stanson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gunn controls the pace.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kaice Gunn.
Well Gunn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
