Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Lemieux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Mean A Thing. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 51 - 26 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Lemieux!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lemieux takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Nelson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lemieux swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Nelson jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Nelson drops Lemieux with a nice combination! Nelson dives into Lemieux's guard, looking to finish!

It looks like David Lemieux has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lemieux kicks Nelson off and gets to his feet.

Nelson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lemieux seems to have recovered his senses.
Lemieux avoids a punch combination nicely.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nelson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lemieux has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lemieux and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Lemieux is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Lemieux might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Lemieux in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
