Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Major Hardwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Musial Stanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardwood comes to the cage accompanied by Ali Bomaye by The Game. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Major Hardwood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Musial Stanson! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanson fails with the takedown. Stanson with a poor takedown and Hardwood counters with a shoot takedown. Stanson fights it but they end up in guard. Stanson keeping moving, preventing Hardwood from controlling successfully. Hardwood with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hardwood looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Stanson has control of Hardwood's left arm, preventing Hardwood from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stanson is pulling down on Hardwood's head. It's preventing any offense from Hardwood, at least for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hardwood advances position into side control! Hardwood is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stanson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hardwood lands a decent elbow from side control. Stanson is trying to control Hardwood's posture but Hardwood avoids it. Hardwood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stanson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Hardwood is staying active.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Hardwood in side control lands a decent elbow. Stanson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hardwood is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stanson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hardwood has hold of Stanson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Stanson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hardwood cranks the arm and Stanson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Stanson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Major Hardwood! Major Hardwood took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!'.
