PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Narsimvarman Maurya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dr Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Narsimvarman Maurya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dr Schultz!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Schultz.
Schultz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Maurya. Maurya obviously looking to wear him down.
Maurya just misses with a punch to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Maurya lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Schultz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Schultz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Schultz looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Maurya lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Maurya misses with a straight right.
Maurya keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Schultz slips a jab from Maurya.
Maurya lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schultz circles away quickly and effectively.
Maurya takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Schultz misses the shot to the body.
Maurya lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Maurya misses with a looping right.
Maurya slips under a jab.
Maurya misses with a looping right.
Schultz moves out of range as Maurya strikes.
Schultz unleashes a big counter combination but Maurya bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Schultz looks to throw the jab but Maurya is out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Schultz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schultz fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Maurya is out of range.
Schultz lands a leg kick that knocks Maurya off balance momentarily.
Maurya definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Schultz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It looked like Maurya wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Maurya with a jab.
Maurya moves out of range of the strikes.
Schultz moves out of range as Maurya strikes.
Schultz throws a leg kick which misses Maurya's front leg but catches the back leg as Maurya tries to avoid it.
Schultz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Schultz throws a quick inside leg kick.
Maurya gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Schultz ducks under a wild hook from Maurya.
Maurya jabs Schultz to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Maurya cracks Schultz with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maurya ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Maurya misses with a wild body shot.
Schultz wants to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Schultz scores with the left hand. Maurya knows he should have avoided that one.
Maurya avoids a kick to the body.
Schultz doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Maurya looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Schultz tries to clinch up.
Schultz throws the kick towards the body but Maurya avoids it.
Schultz misses with a body kick.
Maurya avoids the body shot from Schultz.
Maurya shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Maurya throws a body punch but Schultz moves out of range.
Maurya tried to score with a low kick but Schultz checks it.
Schultz throws the left hand but Maurya avoids the punch easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Schultz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


It looks like Dr Schultz has been cut.
Schultz looks to throw the jab but Maurya is out of range.

Maurya sends Schultz crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Maurya is motioning to the referee to let Schultz up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Schultz is rocked!
Maurya shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Schultz is still on wobbly legs! Can Maurya finish him?
Maurya lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Schultz up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Maurya from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Schultz's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Narsimvarman Maurya!
During a confident post fight interview, Narsimvarman Maurya thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
