The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lupus tries to clinch but Ziegler is having none of it.
Ziegler forces Lupus back against the cage and clinches.

Lupus is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Ziegler wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lupus has him pressed against the cage.
Lupus is looking to control Ziegler's arms but Ziegler gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lupus has his back to the cage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ziegler has hold of Lupus's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lupus manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lupus is in a horrible position here. Ziegler smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Ziegler is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lupus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ziegler slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
I really don't envy Lupus right now.
